About us

Woman pet sitter feeding dog treats outside in Florida

Loyal Companion Pet Services was founded by Autumn, a lifelong animal lover based in St. Petersburg, FL. After years in the corporate world, she followed her true calling: building a professional pet care company rooted in compassion, safety, and genuine connection.

What began as a one-woman passion has grown into a trusted team of five dedicated pet care professionals and we’re continuing to grow. Every sitter on our team is certified in Pet First Aid & CPR, fully insured and bonded, and committed to providing dependable, high-quality care.

We believe pets are family. Our mission is simple: to provide reliable, professional in-home pet care that gives you peace of mind and keeps your pets comfortable in the place they love most: home.

FAQs

Are your pet sitters licensed, insured, and experienced?

1

Yes. All Loyal Companion sitters are licensed, bonded, insured, and certified in Pet First Aid & CPR. Our team has extensive experience caring for animals of many species, breeds, sizes, and temperaments. While most of our clients are dogs and cats, we also have experience caring for small animals, reptiles, farm animals, and horses.

Do you work with reactive pets or pets with special needs?

2

Yes — on a case-by-case basis. Many members of our team have experience working with reactive, anxious, or special-needs pets. We can also administer medications when needed. During the meet and greet we will discuss your pet’s behavior, needs, and comfort level to determine the best care plan.

Is a meet and greet required before booking?

3

Yes. We require an in-person meet and greet and a completed booking form before any service begins. This allows us to meet your pets, learn their routines, review care instructions, and ensure the best possible experience for everyone.

Will the same sitter care for my pets each time?

4

Yes — whenever possible. Each client is assigned a primary sitter who will handle the majority of visits. Autumn, the owner, serves as backup support. If neither your primary sitter nor Autumn is available for your dates, another sitter may be assigned based on availability. In those cases, an additional meet and greet will always be scheduled. We never send a sitter into your home without first meeting you and your pets.

What areas do you service?

5

We service Pinellas County, Florida. The majority of our visits are concentrated in St. Petersburg, with limited availability in northern Pinellas. At this time we do not service neighboring counties, though we hope to expand in the future.

How does the booking process work?

6

Submit a booking request form on our website. We will reach out to discuss availability and coordinate a meet and greet. After the meet and greet, we will send a formal quote and detailed meeting notes outlining your pet’s care plan. To hold dates for bookings over $100, we require a 25% non-refundable deposit. The remaining balance is due the day before service begins. We accept Zelle, PayPal, Venmo, and Apple Pay.

What is your cancellation policy?

7

Deposits are non-refundable, as they secure time reserved specifically for your pets. Once service begins, refunds are not provided for shortened trips or changed plans. Additional meet and greets beyond the first may incur a small fee if needed for your pet’s comfort.

Are there any additional fees I should know about?

8

Some bookings may include additional fees depending on the situation. These may include extra pet fees, last-minute bookings with under 24 hours notice, travel fees for distant locations, constant-care requests, and holiday surcharges. All applicable fees will be clearly outlined in your quote before booking.

How far in advance should I book?

9

Overnight stays often book several weeks to months in advance. We recommend scheduling as early as possible, especially for holidays, which are our busiest time of year and tend to fill up quickly.

Do you offer boarding or doggy daycare?

10

No. All Loyal Companion services take place in your home, where your pets are most comfortable and routines remain consistent. We do not offer boarding or daycare in our homes, as our sitters are pet owners themselves.

How long can pets be left alone during visits?

11

We do not leave dogs unattended for more than five hours at a time. If your pet requires more frequent care or supervision, we can arrange constant-care service, which may include an additional fee.

Contact us

To provide the highest level of care, all new clients go through a short booking process before services begin. This allows us to understand your pet’s routine, ensure the right sitter is assigned, and build trust from the very start.

Submit your booking request to check availability, and we’ll take it from there—guiding you through a meet & greet, service agreement, and scheduling confirmation.
